Mommy Monday #BlogHop {87}

Welcome to The Mommy Monday Blog Hop

Hey ladies! Okay, I really am glad you are here, and if I sound tired… I am.  You see even though my babies are not “babies” anymore, they are still my babies.  And last night was a rough night for me.  I felt like a Mama to a newborn again. Why?  Well, last night my husband & I put the kids down to bed, and decided to {finally} watch The Fault In Our Stars. I cried my eyeballs out! Since, I didn’t want to go to sleep right away after watching such a heartbreaking movie we decided to watch SNL40 on our DVR.  While watching TV in our room, a frantic little guy ran into our room crying, he had a bad dream.

I of course offered him a spot in our bed, we switched SNL40 to FOOD Network and he seemed fine.  My husband carried him back to bed thinking he was okay. Mommy Truth: I cannot sleep when I feel like the babies aren’t feeling well or I sense they are sad.  My mama instinct must have been in overload because minutes later another baby woke up not feeling well.  I kept checking in on her all night, as well as my little guy who could not fall back asleep (he ended up back in our bed). I was up all night checking in on my loves and trying to soothe a scared little boy.

You know what, I didn’t even complain.  As much as I’m tired and I would LOVE to chug coffee like I need it to live, in a weird way, I’m going to admit this to you but don’t say anything to them, I didn’t mind.  I know my days with these guys are numbered :(.  I know that I can complain at times like any Mama does, but I also know that it was nice to snuggle a little guy last night until his beautiful eyelashes finally clinched tight.  My husband laughed at me this morning when I said,  “One day it will be just you and me and we will say, I wish we had someone in our bed again.”  Of course I meant one of our babies and of course I meant we would want them as babies again.  Anyway, I thought maybe you could relate, considering we’re all Mamas here. 🙂

So, excuse my dark circles & slurred speech, I wasn’t out boozing last night, I was busy doing what we do… Mommying.  I hope you rested-up for the party!  You know I couldn’t miss this party fatigued or not, I love my Mommy Monday community!!! 🙂

    1. You’re welcome. Thank YOU for joining us.
      Is there a certain reason you haven’t seen the movie yet? I mean for me it was… let me put it this way.. the only nominated Oscar movies I saw were animated:D .
      I read the book and thought I could handle the movie. However the minute Hazel said she was diagnosed at 13… the tears wouldn’t stop. I tried to put that age out of my mind.
      Anyway, Happy Mommy Monday!
      XOXO

  1. Awwww YES I totally know what you mean! And it’s so easy to complain but you’re so right, one day we’re going to be wishing these mommy days back!! I also love that it makes the coffee taste so much better 🙂 I hope you have a great week, thank you for hosting!

  2. Aw, poor mama! I totally know what you mean. I sometimes miss newborn Eve who would sleep on me. Now she’s too wiggly! (However, I don’t miss waking up every few hours to feed her! It’s a tradeoff, for sure.)

    1. Oh my goodness, I was up every 15-20 minutes, but that was just my pure Mommy worry. The littles will still sleep on me, they both ask me for cuddle time. Thankfully, my teenager will still love on me too. WHEW. I don’t know how I will handle if these kids wouldn’t take my loving.
      I fell asleep watching the Oscars. 🙂
      XOXO

  3. Thank you for allowing me to link up! I am totally with you, my daughter is now 6 but still has rough nights that tire me out the next day. Totally forget about the days of a baby and what the sleepless nights are like! Sim x
