Top Ten Things I’ll Miss About Late Show With David Letterman

I have been watching Late Show with David Letterman for YEARS. Unlike my own children, I had a TV in my room as a kid, I would stay up and watch Letterman. He always made me laugh, even when his jokes were over my head. I enjoyed seeing him chat with the stars and with people on the street. When I got married, I made sure my husband knew that we were Letterman-watchers. I would later come to love Conan, Jimmy, and Jimmy too, but Dave had my heart first. Tonight, the last episode of Late Show With David Letterman will air, which makes me…. sad. I’ll miss Dave and friends. In honor of Letterman’s Top 10 lists here is my own: Top Ten Things I Will Miss About The Late Show with David Letterman.

Top Ten Things I Will Miss About Late Show With David Letterman

10. Rupert’s Deli & Deli Trays- I’ve always wanted to visit Rupert’s and who doesn’t want to win a deli tray.

9. Stupid Pet Tricks and Stupid Human Tricks

8. Will It Float- Will it float, will it float… My husband and I would always play along at home. It’s amazing some of the things that will float!

7. Seeing Letterman play catch with NFL quarterbacks. I enjoy the way he gets excited to do so, but “tries” to play it cool.

6. Toy Testing and taking down the Christmas Tree.

5. Dave’s Mom! Seeing Dave’s Mom on the show has always been one of my favorites. I see other talk shows have implemented the same concept.

4. Checking out Dave’s socks. As a sock lover, I enjoy seeing Dave’s socks. Weird? Maybe. But I’m not the only one…

3. Seeing which guest Dave is smitten with. My hubby and I have noticed that if Dave is smitten with a lady he will kiss her hand. Not everyone gets a kiss on the hand.

2. BIFF!

1. Simply Dave.

His laugh, tho!!

  1. I am not really a Letterman fan, but I definitely enjoy these videos! It is certainly the end of an era and I’m sure you will miss it dearly.

    1. Not a Letterman fan… 🙁
I do have to admit, over the years with Jimmy and Jimmy being on at the same time I have become a late night talk show channel surfer. ((Is that a thing, because I think it is, and I’m it.) (Also, I’m getting older and staying up late sometimes is harder… and harder.)) But like I said, Dave had my heart first.
      Thanks for dropping by, LaKita!
      XOXO

  2. I didn’t watch his show everynight but I loved his top 10, especially when celebrities read them…like Tom Cruise. Love these videos you shared! It’s going to be weird not seeing him on TV anymore.

Thanks for sharing! Hope you’re having a great week hun!

    1. On Thursday they didn’t even put a rerun on! I was shocked. I cannot lie, sometimes I cannot hang, I would fall asleep before Dave came on. Also, I’m a late night channel surfer these days, because I love my Jimmys too 🙂
      XOXO

    1. I agree, he started some of the great late night antics that are now the norm in late night television talk shows.
      XOXO

    1. Thank you! I’m sorry I’m behind on commenting back and repaying the visit. I appreciate your comment, and yes I agree it’s an end of an era, for sure.
      XOXO

  3. Oh my, will you be going through a grieving process??? The hubs, and the youngest love Jimmy Fallon, and I watch the recorded show sometimes the next day. He has me laughing my socks off… Dave has me laughing too, when I have caught him. My poor eyeballs are falling out of my head by the time they are on though….

    Loved the videos mate.

    xoxoxo

    1. HAHA! Not quite a grieving process, but close. I love both Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon too.
      And thank you, Ray!
      XOXO

  4. That’s funny – that you let your husband know! My parents told me that some people were Leno people and some people were Letterman people and that MY parents were Letterman people. And how!
I loved stupid pet tricks the most!

    1. Your parents sound like good people! I agree with them. It took me years to finally watch Leno, due to my extreme loyalty to Dave. 🙂 Leno had some funny shenanigans too, I guess I can admit that. It’s nice to know I’m in good company with a fellow stupid-pet-tricks-lover 🙂
      XOXO

  5. I didn’t watch the Late Show religiously, he will definitely be missed. I wonder if he’ll stay in retirement though? Also, I wonder if he has any other projects in the works.

    1. I didn’t watch religiously either, due to the “Late” part. 😀 I’m sure Dave has something up his sleeve. I cannot wait to see!
      XOXO

  6. I haven’t been able to watch in years. Because I’m old–haha. But he will always be my favorite late night host. Great list! You got all the highlights.

  7. It’s still hard for me to believe he’s done. Gone. Just won’t be there anymore. Crazy!

I’ll miss him. Loved your tribute.

Stopping by from SITS Sharefest. Have a lovely week.

    1. He is missed, indeed! I’m glad you appreciated this post, happy to have another Letterman Lover visit. 🙂
      XOXO
