DIY Watercolor Mugs

It’s not a secret that I love to watercolor. I find it fascinating how paint and water dance together. I’m always showing the kids how beautiful a drop of paint in water is, they’re probably all, “That’s nice, Mommy (for the hundredth million time).” But it’s just relaxes me, I know it’s weird, but hey, I’m a hippie who finds poetry in just about everything. Anyway, this weekend I *tried* to perfect my brush lettering, which was okay-ish, not perfect. Practice makes progress, or so I’ve read. 🙂

This weekend besides making a little time to watercolor I was happy to find out my DIY Watercolor Mugs were featured over at Touched Magazine; I’ve been hinting I had a fun DIY coming up and here it is. These mugs are super simple to make annnnnd you probably have all the supplies needed for this DIY. You will not need watercolors for this DIY, but you will need water. 😉

Dress up your white mugs with this simple DIY. You probably have all the supplies needed to make this quick and easy DIY Watercolor Mugs TODAY!

I would love to know if you give this DIY a try. If you have any additional questions you know where to reach me 🙂

    1. Thank you, Bev. It’s super easy. I thought: I should have Periscoped this! I would not have been all nervous because it’s quick & easy.

    1. You’re not? If you ever feel like becoming a DIY’er this is a simple one. The finished product would look great in your coffee IG pictures. 🙂 And thank you!

    1. Thank you. 🙂
That’s a great idea! When we lived in Illinois we would put out a cup or bowl of water and see how long it would take to freeze, the girls loved doing that.

    1. Thank you! I think teal/aqua is becoming one of my favorite colors… if my blog hasn’t given that away already. 😀

  1. How fun and it might be easy enough for me to do! I have a few mugs that are faded or have lost the picture it once had. This would be a great way to bring them new life. Thanks for sharing. Pinning! Small Victories Sunday Linkup is open for this week, hope you can link up with us again!

  2. I like painting things too. I recently painted a chair that I found at Goodwill. I love paintings wood, because you can make it look nice again if it’s starting to look old. I want to repaint the cabinets in my kitchen soon.

    1. Goodwill always has great finds! I use to go there all the time for upcycles. 🙂
My Goodwill back in Illinois use to receive new merchandise from Target on Tuesdays- score!

  3. Hello!!! 🙂 Oh we have 10 year old bonus daughter for spring break – AND her friend is spending a couple days with us. I see an arts and crafts project in our near future.

    1. This would be perfect! I think we may do a few of these over Spring Break too, for teacher’s gifts. 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by, Heather.
