My First Stitch Fix 🙂
So, this post is going to be different than most posts that I post here. Was that a riddle? No, it’s the introduction to my new love affair with Stitch Fix. Ladies, I’ve been watching Stitch Fix unboxings for years, and I’ve thought, “That’s so awesome, I’d love to do that.” However, I didn’t, I just sat back wanting but not doing. The reason why: Because I often do not do things for myself. I’m usually putting everyone else’s needs and wants before my own, annnd if I’m being 100% honest I usually feel guilty when I do something for myself. I know that’s crazy, right? But I have a feeling I’m not the only one who feels like this.
When I got an email about becoming a Stitch Fix influencer, I jumped at it! I had been wanting to try this service PLUS it’s my birthday month, which felt like the best time to do a little something for my aging self. 🙂
I got my box and I was SO happy, so happy that I did my first Instagram story. 🙂 Doing my first Instagram story actually made me feel old, because I had to Google and watch like 30 gazillion YouTube tutorials before I figured out what to do. 😀
Anyway, when the box showed up I couldn’t wait to tear it open with iPhone in hand to snap all the pictures. More suspense!
I think everyone knows about Stitch Fix by now, but if you don’t here’s how it works.
You create a profile and fill out a questionnaire on Stitch Fix, these will help your personal stylist get a feeling of your style. Along with filling out the questionnaire you can also send links to your blog, social media, and your Pinterest style board, this may help guide your stylist further. You can also leave a little note for your stylist to let her know what you’re looking for.
There’s a $20 styling fee, that fee is added to any purchase you make from the box. So, if you want to keep something that is $50 you only pay $30. You do not have to keep it all, but if you do you receive 25% off + $20 the whole box. As you can see in the picture above there’s a mailing package inside my box for my returns. The package is prepaid, therefore all you have to do is drop it in the mail. 🙂 If you decide to send it all back you still pay the $20 styling fee.
My stylist sent me a sweet note.
She also gave me ideas on how to style the different items she sent.
You’re ready to see what I got, aren’t you? 🙂
Omaha Two Pocket Top
I love plaid and it’s always in for fall. My friend Ashley just wrote about her love of plaid and I totally agree with her, plaid + fall = perfection!
I was delighted that the top was blue and white, you know, like my team. 🙂 I was impressed with the the quality and feeling of the top. I also liked that it was a little longer in the back.
As much as I adore this shirt, it was a little too big on me. The sleeves were a smidgen too long, and because it was a bit longer in the back and I’m a shorty, it made me look a little more bulkier. I really wanted to keep this one, but decided to send it back. I couldn’t exchange it because they no longer had any more of these tops available. I was a bummed about that, but then I thought that’s a good thing because there are not a million gazillion people wearing the same style. I imagine they only have a set amount, which means the likelihood of you showing up somewhere wearing the same thing as anyone else is slim with Stitch Fix. I hope.
Will it stay or will it go– Sadly this one is a gonner. 🙁
Bernadette Lace Overlay Raglan Top
I have a thing for lace. I own quite a few lace tops, so this top made me smile. My husband said, “This looks like something you already own.” He’s right, it kind of does, but all my lace tops are either sleeveless or short sleeved, so I obviously needed a longer sleeved lace top.
Did it stay or did it go? What do you think? Of course it stayed! 🙂
Psst… the bracelets I’m wearing with this outfit are from my friend Shelly’s Etsy shop.
Greenich Striped Knit Top & Jimmy Skinny Jean
This top was cute. I imagine it would be nice for layering. I was impressed again with the quality, because although this top may look like a regular long sleeve tee, it was far from that. It was thicker, which is great for those cooler days.
Did it stay or did it go? This one went back
The pants in this outfit and the outfit above are the same. These are the Jimmy Skinny jeans my stylist sent. I knew I would have no problem with them fitting these thighs of mine. 😉 But again, I’m short, so I did have to give ’em a little roll. Surprisingly, they were not super long on me.
When I wear my skinny jeans the one thing I detest more than slouching jeans after wearing them for a few hours is bunchy knees. I just do not like bunchy knees with boots. Though these jeans didn’t give me the overly bunchy knees that other jeans have given me, there was a some bunching. This may have to do with my height or maybe I have small knees, I don’t know. It ain’t easy being short…
Did it stay or did it go? The jeans went back. I really wanted to make them work, but I’m hard to please when it comes to jeans.
I am not sure who was more excited to see me try on this dress my husband or my daughter. I don’t know why, it’s not like I do not wear dresses! The dress was absolutely lovely. I’m not sure my pictures do it justice, but you tie the dress on the side.
Did it stay or did it go?
I felt super feminine in this dress. And as much as everyone here thought I looked great in the dress, I wasn’t in love with the dress on me, so it went back.
I really enjoyed my first Stitch Fix box and I cannot wait for my next one! (I made sure to add more to my profile and a note for my stylist to help with my next box.) Which should get here next week!!! 🙂 My husband told me to go for it, because it’ll show up right before my birthday. He’s such a sweetheart.
I think I’ll have to get him a Stitch Fix too.
Yes, him. OH! You didn’t know? Stitch Fix, is now helping the fellas! And my fella could use some new work clothes.
